Don't we just love new restaurants in town? TanTan Noodle Bar!
Very New-Yorkish, loud rock music on and hype friendly staff.
Many awesome starters, lamen and cocktails.
Thiago Bañares, the owner and chef is adorable and very sympa. If they had a cushion toy made of him I would definitely buy it! We troubled him to take a selfie with us, and despite being super busy, he was very cool about it.

He started his career through restaurants like DOM, from the renomated chef Alex Atala (!!!), where he was the tasting menu's chef . Years later, he took over the kitchen and became a partner of Arturito Restaurant (!!!). He was also responsible for the rise of Z Deli Sandwich Shop as executive chef (!!!). Boy, I wish I had a CV like that.
Today is the chef-owner of Tan Tan Noodle, bar and restaurant. The Bañares style is shaped by his professional experience and the oriental culture, one of his specialties. I couldn't tell first, but he has Chinese descendency.
Back to the restaurant...
Be prepared to wait a forever long waiting list. While you are outside, there are two options to calm down the hungry beast inside you: edamame or Tori Sandu. Of course, we would go with the fattest option.
Tori Sandu: fried chicken, nori, pickels on egg sponge bread (R$24,00)
The bread is a little sweet and the combination makes our tummy very very happy.
The only unfortunate is that it is too small..

After say one hour later.. We got our sits on the balcon, where you can watch the chef make the goodies! I got a boring green tea (responsible driver..) and my friend got a Godira (Sweet Potato shochu, lemon juice and gingerbeer). It was really light and refreshing!

Then the gyoza (pork dumpling) came (R$15,00).
It is very delicate and pleasent. It may have been one of the best gyozas I ever had in my life.

And the Yoshoku Steak with Japanese mustard (R$24,00) showed up. Just au point.

After devouring the starters, we waited for the lamen while watching the master's work at his kitchen.

And voilá.. The infamous TanTanMen (R$30,00)!
The noodles have a very pleasent texture and the broth is spicy and tasty.
And if you leave some broth behind, you can ask for Kaedama (aka noodles recharge! R$4,00).

After being hot and sweaty because of all the extra pepper I insist to put everytime, the perfect grand finale:
Matcha Kakigori!!! (drooling...)

Wow. We were so happy and looking forward that moment that we couldn't help smiling like fools and doing mini joy dances from our seats. Who cares for looking stupid? The happiness overload was too great to hold in. And while we were half way through, the waiter just came with more of the green beautiful awesome matcha topping and blew our minds away. Nothing else to declare.

When we were leaving, around 23hs, there were still a lot of people on line!
Great place.
