Pies & love

One of the cutest restaurants in São Paulo for me is Torta no Quintal! It means "pie in the backyard". The place is a super tiny charming court, with colorful deco and bloomy table cloths. They also always have fresh flowers on the tables. The music is always catchy: Ingrid Michaelson, The Post Modern Jukebox, Caro Emerald, Zaz... It's the perfect place for brunch! It's a shame that they don't open on Sundays... It is always packed, since it's so small. But let me tell you: it's absolutely worth it.

The first thing is to order your juice! The colors and flavors are mesmerizing. I love the red berries with passion fruit and watermelon with ginger. They come in a big glass and it's always too much to drink.

They don't have a menu, the waiters let you know which are the pies of the day. The best and my favorite one is the mushrooms and cream cheese pie! But all of them are awesome: sun dried meat with manioc, brocoli, turkey breast, shrimp, palmetto and many other yummies on.
But wait! That's not it: the salad on the side is marvelous! They have half salad and a whole salad, but half is more than enough. The sauce that comes with the salad is great. It's like honey & mustard, with a twist. They even sell it separately and you can buy just the refill if you keep the bottle. And they always put different combinations on top of the salad, like: popcorn, tapioca flour cracker, roquefort, Doritos and so on.
